Chiropractic Leadership
Dr. Dick Plummer has appeared on more than 600 radio and television programs throughout the country discussing chiropractic and health and has addressed laymen and professional groups in the United States, Canada and Europe.
A 1979 graduate of ShermanCollege and a former associate professor at ShermanCollege, Plummer also served as dean of continuing education and director of alumni affairs, student recruitment and fund raising.
An active member of state and national chiropractic groups, Plummer has served in many leadership roles including chairmen of the board of the Federation of Straight Chiropractors and Organizations, chairman of the board of the Palmetto State Chiropractic Association, and president of the Sherman College Alumni Association. He served on the South Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners for nine years.
Plummer is the developer of several educational videos for patients and chiropractic professionals. He is also the developer of Success Secrets Seminars. Plummer serves as a member of the Sherman College Board of Regents. He is a chiropractic career advisor and a member of both the post-graduate and extern program faculty of ShermanCollege.
Among his numerous honors, Plummer was named Chiropractor of the Year by both ShermanCollege and the FSCO in 2001. The Palmetto State Chiropractic Association named him Chiropractor of the Year in 2000.
A native of New Jersey, Plummer and his wife and children moved to Spartanburg so that he could become a chiropractor. He opened an office a short distance from the college after graduation and maintains a busy family practice there.
