South Africa to Michigan

Drs. Raymond and Charmaine Lanjopoulos, natives of the Republic of South Africa who now practice in Grand Ledge, Michigan, met at Sherman College in the late 1970’s.  While they were students, both fought for political and licensing rights of chiropractors in South Africa and continued the fight after graduation.  They practiced in their native land for nine years before returning to the United States to open a practice in Michigan.

Both doctors are active in their community.  Raymond practices and teaches martial arts, is a board member of the local Rotary Club and is a commissioner on the CountyParks and Recreation Board.  Charmaine practices and teaches yoga and serves on several committees for the Chamber of Commerce.  Their practice was voted number one in their community for the years 1998 through 2001.  They both serve as team chiropractors to the local swim, cross country and gymnastics teams.

The Lanjopouloses are 1980 graduates of ShermanCollege.  Long-time supporters of the college, they have been members of the Board of Regents since 1990.  In 1996 they were honored by the college with the Spirit of Sherman College Award in recognition of their outstanding service and commitment to the college and the chiropractic profession.
