Chiropractic Family Affair

When Drs. Bruce and Judy Ehlich married and relocated to Chesnee, South Carolina to open the first Ehlich Chiropractic Clinic in December 1964, it was the start of an impressive legacy of chiropractic care, leadership and influence. They met when they were both students at Columbia Institute of Chiropractic (now New York Chiropractic College ) and together built a practice and family devoted to straight chiropractic.

The Ehlichs are parents of five children, all whom have followed their parents’ examples and chosen careers in chiropractic. Kim, Chris, Darryl, d’Artagnon and Kendra have all attended Sherman College. In addition, Kim’s husband, Craig McDowell, and Chris’s wife, Beth Robinson, are also Sherman College graduates. All of the Ehlichs practice in the area surrounding Spartanburg,South Carolina. Guided by similar philosophies and close family relationships, the Ehlichs have been able to bring the benefits of straight chiropractic to thousands in their community.

Drs. Bruce and Judy have always been politically active, first as members of the International Chiropractors Association and more recently with Dr. Judy Ehlich’s involvement with the Federation of Straight Chiropractors of South Carolina (FSCSC). Sadly, Dr. Bruce Ehlich passed away unexpectedly October 5, 1999 at his home in Cowpens, South Carolina. A scholarship has been established at the college in his memory.

The example Bruce and Judy have set in their practice for so many years has been a great inspiration to their children, as well as to many others who have pursued a career in chiropractic because of their leadership.
